CallerDojo review

This week’s tool review is for perhaps the most contemporary of the apps we’ve included since Creator Tools Weekly started. CallerDojo is a collection of customisable professional backgrounds for your zoom calls. How 2020.

CallerDojo might not be the most groundbreaking of tools, but it did catch my eye for a number of reasons. It’s all on one webpage, with a clean and bright interface and with a very intuitive layout, it’s hard to make a wrong turn. Simply select “download” to get a background, of which there are plenty of great ones, it’s free and instant (unless you upgrade to pro, which gets rid of the CallerDojo.com logo and costs £2.50). But before doing that, choose the background that tickles your fancy, then you have options to include your name, your position, your email address, your company and your company logo! Creating a professional profile around you that strengthens your brand image and personality within every meeting.

Zoom themselves offer a range of HD backgrounds to include on your calls, but the variety CallerDojo offer with the emphasis on professional backgrounds cements their USP. And as seen by the images I’ve included, you have a variety of options to choose from, and maybe you’ll even have a bit of fun in a shirt and tie!

One hiccup is that you do see that slight render issue when you move around and the tracking of your body distorts somewhat, but I’ve never seen that problem not happen.

All in all, CallerDojo is a simple tool with a simple result. And that’s not a bad thing. I like this tool and I will certainly be using it to spice up my backgrounds! Definitely an improvement on the wonky shelf I flat-out refuse to fix. Give it a try and see what you think!
