Pasteline review

Note and task management apps, they’re nothing new, in fact, we’ve reviewed a handful of them for Tool of the Week already. Each with its own nuances, niches and flaws. Well, this week we’ve tried out yet another, only this one feels a little different. Pasteline, dubbed ‘the place for your notes’ is a note/messaging hub for your ideas, to-dos and even youtube links… let us delve in a little deeper.

Firstly, Pasteline is iOs only, so apologies to our android and windows readers, this one isn’t for you (maybe down the line). The basic membership is free, but some of the more specialist features are only found with the paid version. Pasteline is the latest venture from the brains at Tapteek, app developers of Fobia, Cyber Dude and Barney. Pasteline is designed first and foremost as a note-house, but with some useful additions. It allows you to add other members to your notes, like a mini Google drive, so ideas, comments or even wholesale collaboration can be achieved. However, adding other members does require a subscription fee - which is £2.79 a month. Not bank-breaking but still something to consider depending on your needs.

We won’t go into extensive detail on note-taking, it speaks for itself, but what we did notice and appreciate about Pasteline, is it feels like it has a higher purpose, like it’s the place that your ideas and thoughts belong. Its plain and clean interface lends itself to an ethos of clarity, allowing your thought processes to flow organically. Our OD video agency ideas have been explored and developed here, and with the collaboration tool, it might suit the more minimalist-focused users than the extensive features of a Google drive. Pasteline is a formatted space for reference and inception. You can categorise your notes by folders, add web links as a supplement to your notes or as a prompt. We will house all of our Creator Tools Weekly newsletter links here as instant access. Again, to get the most out of Pasteline, you have to fork out for the subscription fee, but £2.79 a month is less than a pint of real ale… so we would say it’s absolutely worth it.

We have never had a note-taking tool invoke an emotional response, and at risk of sounding melodramatic, it definitely feels like Pasteline could be more than just a place for jotting down a shopping list. It could be a cognitive powerhouse should you see it that way yourself, of course, you only reap what you sow, but Pasteline might be just what you need. We would definitely recommend a download for your device or desktop.

Pasteline, we love it - 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼/5!
