Episode 11: All about animation

Time for another episode of the Clever Content Podcast. This time, Iain and Phil are joined by our marvellous animator, Cara who is on hand to share her expertise. She shares how she became interested in animation at an early age and managed to turn her passion into a career. 

Cara recently wrote about the online spaces where she find inspiration for her work. On the show, she talks about the recent animated blockbuster, Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse which uses a wide range of techniques to produce a unique effect. It’s all about the ones and the twos!

Finally, we look at the incredible statistic that 60% of animation students in the US and europe are women, yet that figure drops off to 20–40% who are in professional roles. Cara is just starting to get involved in a new organisation called Animated Women UK, and she shares her experience of being a female animator working in the industry.
