Strata is an established home builder in Yorkshire and the Midlands with an £80m turnover and an aim to develop over 750 homes a year. They came to us wanting more Instagram followers. But we spotted an opportunity. We helped them create and nurture a thriving community of enthusiastic customers.

Our research showed that Strata’s customers were already sharing images of their homes. They cared about the brand and were happy to shout about it. We found a way to harness that passion.  

It started with a competition. We asked Strata’s Instagram followers to share their room using the #MyStrataStory hashtag. We also reposted customers’ images to the Strata account.

The campaign took off. Through sharing their own content, customers began to connect and form a community around the brand. Some became influencers, appearing in campaign materials, including video content and a My Strata Story microsite.

The hashtag #MyStrataStory has been used more than 3600 times. It's been added to memorable life moment posts, including a marriage proposal and baby bump pictures. Customers even use it to find neighbours on their new street. 

My Strata Story helped the company see and embrace the power of community. It transformed social media for them and had a powerful impact on the wider business.
